Grades & Chemical Analysis

Four fractions, each with its own quality-control report. The 60–140 mm blast-furnace grade is the only one carrying drum strength and CRI/CSR figures, because it is the only one whose job depends on surviving the furnace shaft. Select a panel for its full analysis.

Each panel transcribes a separate coke-plant quality-control report. CRI and CSR were not determined on the +60 mm, +80 mm and nut coke fractions, so no figure is quoted for them here. We do not claim ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for the testing laboratory — a batch-specific CoA accompanies every shipment, and independent sampling and analysis by SGS, Bureau Veritas or an inspector of your choice can be arranged at the buyer’s cost. On a first order we would recommend it.

Minimum Order Quantity
1 × 20 ft container (approx. 25 MT) bagged. 500 MT minimum for bulk vessel. Trial quantities available for qualification.
Packaging
Bulk, or 1–1.5 MT woven jumbo bags. Screened to the agreed size fraction before loading; oversize and undersize limits confirmed per contract.
Incoterms & Loading Ports
EXW, FOB, CFR and CIF (Incoterms® 2020). Ex-mine either customs-cleared or uncleared, delivered to the Rimdan or Mirjaveh/Taftan border crossings, or FOB Bandar Abbas and Bandar Imam Khomeini.
Quality Certification
Batch-specific CoA with every shipment covering proximate analysis, sulfur, and on the 60–140 mm fraction M10/M40 drum strength and CRI/CSR. Lead Time
7–14 days for standard grades after order confirmation; 15–25 days for custom-milled or specially packed material.
Storage & Handling
Store in a dry, well-ventilated stockpile away from ignition sources, and keep moisture down — water in coke is a direct fuel penalty and increases handling degradation. Minimise drop heights during transfer; every extra drop makes fines. Handling: do not breathe dust or fume, wear eye, face, hand and respiratory protection, and wash thoroughly afterwards. Extinguish with water fog, steam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide. A Safety Data Sheet ships with every consignment.

A batch-specific CoA is issued with every shipment. Third-party inspection by SGS, Bureau Veritas or an inspector of your choice can be arranged at the buyer’s cost.

Metallurgical Coke — Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between CRI and CSR, and why do they matter?
CRI, the coke reactivity index, measures how much coke is consumed by carbon dioxide at 1100°C. CSR, coke strength after reaction, measures how much strength the coke retains once that reaction has taken place. In a blast furnace the coke has to stay in lumps all the way down to the tuyeres to keep the burden permeable, so CSR is the property that decides how much of your furnace volume stays gas-permeable. Our 60–140 mm coke runs CRI 38–42 and CSR 37–41.
What do M10 and M40 tell me?
They are the Micum drum indices. M40 is the percentage of coke remaining above 40 mm after tumbling, so it measures resistance to breakage; M10 is the percentage passing 10 mm, so it measures resistance to abrasion. Higher M40 and lower M10 are better. Our 60–140 mm coke runs M40 77–81% and M10 8–11%.
Which size fractions are available?
Four as standard: 60–140 mm for blast furnaces, +80 mm and +60 mm as foundry lump, and 3–5 mm nut coke. Intermediate cuts and coke breeze can be screened to order — send us your target fraction with oversize and undersize tolerances and we will confirm availability and lead time.
Is the analysis independently verified?
Not as it stands. The figures on this page come from the coke plant’s own quality-control laboratory, and we are not going to describe that laboratory as ISO/IEC 17025 accredited, because its own test report states that it is not. What ships with the cargo is a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis from that laboratory. If you want independent verification — and on a first order we would recommend it — sampling and analysis by SGS, Bureau Veritas or an inspector of your choice can be arranged at the buyer’s cost.
Why do the +60 and +80 mm grades have no CSR figure?
Because CRI and CSR were not determined on those fractions, and we will not fill a gap in a certificate with a number of our own. Foundry coke is bought mainly on lump size, fixed carbon and sulfur, which is what those reports cover: fixed carbon above 82%, ash at or below 15.8% and 16.0% respectively, and sulfur at or below 1.60%. If your specification requires CRI and CSR on a foundry fraction, say so at enquiry stage and we will have it tested before quoting.
How should coke be stored and handled?

What is the minimum order quantity for coke?
One 20 ft container, approximately 25 MT, for bagged material. Bulk vessel shipments start at 500 MT. Trial quantities can be arranged so you can qualify the material before a full order.
