Storage & Handling
Store in a dry, covered warehouse, bags off the ground and away from walls. Cement absorbs atmospheric moisture, which causes lump formation and progressive strength loss. Use within 3 months of production for full rated strength; shelf life is nominally 6 months in sealed bags under dry storage.

A batch-specific CoA is issued with every shipment. Third-party inspection by SGS, Bureau Veritas or an inspector of your choice can be arranged at the buyer’s cost.

Portland Cement Type I-425 — Frequently Asked Questions

What does the 425 in Type I-425 mean?
It is the minimum 28-day compressive strength in kg/cm². Our material runs 440 kg/cm² against that 425 floor, with 180 kg/cm² at 2 days and 310 kg/cm² at 7 days. Iranian practice also distributes Type I in 325 and 525 classes; 425 and 525 are roughly equivalent to 42.5 and 52.5 MPa in EN 197-1 terms.
What is the Blaine fineness and why does it matter?
3260 cm²/g against a 2800 minimum. Blaine measures specific surface area, and a finer cement hydrates faster, so it develops early strength quicker and needs a little more water. Too fine and you get higher heat of hydration and more shrinkage; 3260 sits in the normal window for a general-purpose structural cement.
When should I not use Type I?
When the concrete will sit against sulfate-bearing soil or groundwater, or when you are placing a mass pour where the heat of hydration will crack it. Our Type I-425 carries C₃A at 7.2%, which is fine for normal exposure but is the phase that sulfate attacks. In those cases use Type II instead, which holds C₃A to 6.4%.
What are C₃S, C₂S, C₃A and C₄AF?
The four main clinker phases, calculated from the oxide analysis by the Bogue equations. C₃S (51.9%) drives early strength; C₂S (22.8%) drives later strength; C₃A (7.2%) controls setting behaviour and is the phase vulnerable to sulfate attack; C₄AF (10.9%) contributes little to strength but gives cement its grey colour.
How should cement be stored on site?
Dry and covered, bags stacked off the ground on pallets and clear of external walls. Cement takes up moisture from the air, which first causes lumping and then permanent strength loss. Use within 3 months of production for full rated strength; nominal shelf life in sealed bags under dry storage is 6 months.
