Quicklime or Hydrated Lime — Which Do You Need?

Both products deliver calcium alkalinity, but they differ in reactivity, handling and cost per unit of available CaO.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from industrial buyers sourcing lime in bulk.

What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for lime?
Our standard MOQ is one 20 ft container (approximately 25 MT) for bagged lime. For bulk vessel shipments the minimum is 500 MT. Trial and sample quantities can be arranged so you can qualify the material before committing to a full order.
Which Incoterms do you trade lime under?
We quote EXW, FOB, CFR and CIF under Incoterms® 2020. Most export orders ship FOB Bandar Abbas or FOB Bandar Imam Khomeini, with CFR and CIF available to most destination ports on request.
Do you issue a Certificate of Analysis (CoA)?
Yes. A batch-specific Certificate of Analysis accompanies every shipment, covering CaO or Ca(OH)₂ content, loss on ignition, residual oxides and sieve residue. Third-party inspection by SGS, Bureau Veritas or an inspector of your choice can be arranged at the buyer's cost.
Can you produce a custom lime specification?
Yes. We produce to customer specification for fineness (mesh), CaO or Ca(OH)₂ content, reactivity and packaging — including moisture-proof lined bags for humid destinations. Send your target specification and we will confirm feasibility, pricing and lead time.
What is the lead time for a lime order?
Standard grades ship within 7 to 14 days of order confirmation. Custom-milled or specially packed grades typically require 15 to 25 days depending on volume and destination port.
What is the difference between quicklime and hydrated lime?
Quicklime is calcium oxide (CaO), produced by calcining limestone; it reacts exothermically with water. Hydrated lime is calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)₂), produced by adding a controlled amount of water to quicklime, giving a stable fine powder that is safer to handle. Quicklime delivers more available alkalinity per tonne, while hydrated lime is preferred where handling safety and immediate dispersion matter. See the quicklime grades and hydrated lime grades for full analyses.
